Job Description

The College of Science and Engineering at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi invites applications for one tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Computer Science. The position will support programs offering the BS and MS in Computer Science, and Ph.D. in Geospatial Computing Sciences. The appointment will start in Fall 2018. The basic job requirements include (1) teaching undergraduate and graduate-level courses, (2) establishing and directing an active and externally funded research program, (3) publishing research results in archival journals with high impacts, (4) advising and recruiting graduate students, and (5) representing the department in national and international functions.

The Department of Computing Sciences prepares students to pursue productive careers and advanced degrees in computer science or geospatial information science.

Required Qualifications

  1. An earned Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field at the time of appointment2. Record of original research, with significant publications in archival journals commensurate with the candidate’s level3. Experience in teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels, and in supervising undergraduate and graduate students is desired. Must show teaching potential

Preferred Qualifications

Experience teaching in an ABET accredited geomatics undergraduate program and experience in recruiting students would be advantageous. The ability to communicate effectively with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community.
