Help Desk/User Support Specialist
The Contractor is responsible for directly and independently supporting one of more program areas by providing a wide variety of administrative and data entry functions.
Work requires knowledge of office skills, personal computers, scanners, copy and fax machines, and an ability to work as a team member and facilitate work processes among other staff members.
Communication skills are extremely important for all categories listed above.
All positions will work and interact professionally and effectively with all levels of staff.
Ability to meet established deadlines and work as a team player in a professional office setting.
Skill in meeting and dealing with people in a courteous and tactful manner.
Applicant must have the ability to use MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Word, Adobe Acrobat Professional or other department specific databases, VNS, CDCS, FMIS, E2 Travel.
The position will require the contractor to perform duties or support various divisions of the United States Attorney’s office.
May be required to perform the following:
The contractor will provide telephone help desk and on-site support to end users.
Provide assistance in using hardware and software.
Perform help desk functions, such as answering and responding to user phone calls (password resets, network account management, routine maintenance.)
Assist with moving personal computer and related peripheral devices, to include printers and monitors.
Assist in the installation of new and revised commercial off-the-shelf software packages.
Assists with the configuration of microcomputers to interface with existing LAN and mainframe computers.
Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain a government security clearance.
Experience providing direct end-user support for the applications being supported, including both telephone support and on-site assistance to users.
Certain applications may require certification by the software provider.
Prior teaching/training experience involving computer applications, preferably database, imaging, or other automated litigation support applications strongly preferred.
Must have hands-on familiarity with the network, telecommunications, and operating systems environment of the applications being supported.
Prior experience in automated litigation support preferred.
Experience with DOJ office automation environments extremely helpful; should be an expert user of the Government's word processing, spreadsheet, and email systems.
Excellent oral and written communications skills required.
Pleasant telephone manner important.
Undergraduate degree valued.
