The ideal candidate will be expected to teach master level coursework in Counseling and Guidance, carry out a program of research and publication, work cooperatively with area public schools, serve on university committees, engage in professional service activities, provide student advisement, recruit for the program/department, and maintain collegial relationships with others.


  • Earned Doctorate in Counseling or Counselor Education from a CACREP accredited institution.

  • Must have 18 graduate hours for every field in which the applicant will teach from a regionally accredited institution or university.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Credentials sufficient to be an Assistant/Associate Professor at Texas A&M University-Kingsville.

  • Applicants must be licensed or license-eligible as an LPC counselor in the state of Texas.

  • Leadership abilities with a vision to develop and enhance programs in the department.

  • Evidence of teaching excellence in a discipline within the department.

  • Experience and/or knowledge in teaching in a hybrid or online delivery format.

  • Ability and desire to address the educational needs of a diverse population.

  • Willingness to collaborate and sustain a collegial environment.
