Proposed Minimum Salary
Responsibilities:-Program Implementation - Responsible for implementing planned educational programs aimed at improving nutrition, increasing physical activity, reducing obesity, managing or preventing diabetes, managing asthma, and reducing infectious disease. - Conduct special activities such as special projects, information days, awareness events, and multi-county collaborative programs. - Provide leadership for implementing educational programs addressing critical needs. - Identify, recruit and train youth and adult volunteers to assist in delivering of program outreach.-Program Planning - Oversee Healthy South Texas community coalitions. Including recruiting and training members, establishing meetings, and follow-up on plans and initiatives. - Plan evaluation strategies for outcome based programs. - Maintain appropriate communication between county staff, specialists, and program coordinators. - Develop mass media, social media, and general educational materials and campaigns. - Coordinate with Healthy South Texas initiative to enhance programming and increase outreach education to members of the county-Program Evaluation - Collects evaluation tools and assists in creating program summaries. - Participate as requested in interpretative events to highlight program summaries.-Other job related duties as assigned.
The responsibilities of the Extension Agent are performed in a professional manner through coordination and cooperation with other county staff members under the supervision of the assigned administrator.-Individual Development, Office Management, Reporting and Interpretation.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:-Excellent customer service skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Current knowledge of IT trends in software, hardware, and communications.
Other Requirements:Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others. Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills. Must be able to travel independently.
Education – Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.Experience – None
